Our priority areas of education, health, and theology and philosophy align with our institutional mission and identity. Our research intensification has achieved results above and well above world standard in these focus areas.

In the latest Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment we ranked first or equal first in the following ten research fields:

Our international collaborations with leading institutions are central to our research excellence. We host international researchers, hold joint seminars, and contribute to co-authored publications with our international partners.

We’re ranked in the top 3% of universities worldwide2, are a top 100 Asia Pacific university3 and are recognised as a top 100 young university worldwide4.

We’ve been recognised for excellence in a number of subjects, including nursing, education, sport science, arts and humanities, theology, psychology, clinical health and public health by leading international ranking systems5.

What does a partnership with ACU involve?

A research collaboration with ACU may be be an informal arrangement of limited scope and duration or it may be a formal partnership with a formalised agreement that has been negotiated through a consultation process and has been approved in accordance with ACU rules and procedures.

ACU is hosting a node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions. We’re joining universities across Australia in dedicating research to a broader understanding of emotions and how they’ve impacted the world we live in.
