Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Education advances disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge to ensure that all students have opportunities to become proficient, critical knowers and users of mathematics and science in a complex technologically-oriented and data-rich world.
The STEM in education research program is lead by Professor Vince Geiger. The PASL project responds to the need for a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skilled workforce to ensure Australia remains globally competitive. With the government seeking to enhance the STEM capability of schools, and for increased enrolments in STEM related subjects in schools to ensure young Australians have the capabilities they need to live and work in a globalised world, this project delivers professional learning. These modules are aimed at developing the capabilities of principals for leading school-wide ongoing enhancement of STEM teaching and learning.
