This research concerns the development of expertise in initial teacher education and teachers’ continuing professional learning. It engages with the repeated calls for reforming teacher education. It also is advancing research to build the country’s first evidence base to show the impact of the policy-driven reform to introduce a competence assessment to show graduate preparedness for entering the workforce. In another policy-related research project funded by the federal government, researchers are undertaking longitudinal analyses of performance pathways in teacher education from admission to exit into the workforce. The research area has a commitment to transdisciplinary research and methodological innovation.
