About the Student Hardship Fund

During the worst moments of the COVID-19 pandemic last year, ACU launched the Student Urgent Relief Fund, which brought out the best in our community. The outpouring of generosity from our staff and supporters enabled us to provide immediate relief to over 800 students affected by the pandemic. We all know student hardship endures, so ACU established the ongoing Student Hardship Fund to allow you to continue to make a difference.

The fund provides critical aid to our students who are suffering severe financial hardships – including those affected by the ongoing impacts of COVID-19. It supports students with a $600 grant in their most difficult times. Your generous contribution will help cover their immediate and essential expenses due to unexpected financial stresses, such as loss of employment, housing or food insecurity.

The world still has not recovered from the pandemic. Students are experiencing considerable stress and fear of an uncertain future, or even facing the prospect of giving up their studies. And for some of them, reaching out to family and friends can be difficult, or even impossible.

By making a gift today, you will help provide a grant to a student whose financial difficulties are affecting their studies and their wellbeing. Your generosity not only helps cover the most basic needs, like food and rent, but also remotivates those who are struggling to get back on track and persist in their university studies.
