Associate Professor Bart de Jong’s research focuses on trust, teams and the inter-link between the two. He integrates existing work on trust across different levels of analyses and breaks new ground by challenging implicit scholarly assumptions about trust. His research on teams spans a variety of topics, including team entrepreneurial passion, team adaptation, peer control, and social hierarchy. He earned his PhD in Organisational Behaviour and Masters degree in Organisation Science from VU University Amsterdam. His research has been published in some of the world’s leading journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organisation Science and Academy of Management Journal.

Honorary Fellow

Dr Mindy Shoss has emerged as one of the world’s leading scholars in the study of employee well-being, using it as a lens through which to examine such topics as leadership, counterproductive workplace behaviour, adaptability, job insecurity, and the consequences of economic crises. She holds a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston, and pairs this background with baccalaureate training in both psychology and economics from Washington University in St. Louis, where she graduated summa cum laude and received Phi Beta Kappa honours. Her research has been published in some of the world’s leading journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. In the United States, she also serves in a professorial capacity in the Industrial/Organisational Psychology program at the University of Central Florida.


Associate Professor Dr Pandula Gamage 

Associate Professor Dr. Pandula Gamage is Deputy Head and Senior Lecturer in Accounting in the Peter Faber Business School. Pandula completed his PhD at La Trobe University, Master of Commerce degree (Accounting) at the University of Melbourne and the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education at Victoria University. Pandula has extensive national and international experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate subjects. Pandula's considerable personal success in teaching was formally acknowledged in 2014 with the award of "Pearson/AFAANZ Accounting Educator of the year: Australia and New Zealand." Apart from his excellence in classroom teaching, Pandula also engages in high-impact research. He has recently published scholarly articles in prestigious journals such as: Public Money and Management and Australian Journal of Public Administration. He has also received research grants linked with national professional accounting and finance associations. Pandula's research interests include performance management, corporate accountability and auditing, public sector accounting and accounting education. Prior to commencing his academic career, Pandula held various accounting and finance roles in the industry. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Associate Professor Dr Haifeng ShenAssociate Professor Haifeng Shen

Associate Professor Haifeng Shen is the Discipline Leader of Information Technology. Before joining ACU in 2019, he was a lecturer/senior lecturer in the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Flinders University, Australia, and an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Associate Professor Shen’s primary research expertise is in intelligent and interactive software and technology. He develops and studies intelligent human-centric collaborative and social software systems across a variety of platforms. These systems are for people to share, communicate, interact, and collaborate with one another over communication networks through the seamless integration of artificial and human intelligence.

Associate Professor Shen has published more than 110 research papers for international conferences and journals, including more than 20 in top ranked A*/A/Q1 journals and conferences. He has also supervised eight PhD completions as the principle supervisor.

Associate Professor Shen has been a general chair or program chair for a number of international conferences, such as the International Conference on Information Visualisation; the International Conference on Computer Graphics, Imaging, and Visualisation; the Australasian Software Engineering Conference; and the Australasian Human Computer Interaction Conference.

Dr Hormoz Ahmadi

Dr Hormoz Ahmadi is the Discipline Leader in Marketing and a Senior Lecturer in innovation and entrepreneurship at Peter Faber Business School, Australian Catholic University. His teaching interest includes New venture/Entrepreneurial firm's development, business to business marketing, sales management, international marketing, marketing management and market research. His research focuses on entrepreneurial marketing, product and brand innovation and customer-firm relationships. Over the last six years, He has been involved in identifying the trends and conducting research in the areas of product and brand innovation management and new technology ventures & growth. Hormoz was also an entrepreneur, sales engineer and marketing manager in telecommunication and electronics industries for ten years before joining academia. His research has been published in well-reputed and high-rank (A* and A) marketing and entrepreneurship journals. He is currently collaborating with and managing several industry-relevant research projects.

Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman

Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman is a National Discipline Leader in Accounting, Finance, and Economics and Lecturer in Finance at Peter Faber Business School. He worked as Lecturer in Finance at the University of Newcastle. He also worked as a Curriculum Technical Advisor at Kaplan Professional Australia. He received his PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia. His main teaching areas are financial institutions management, corporate finance, investments, and business analysis. His research interests include asset pricing, financial contagion, interest rate risk and capital adequacy. He has published articles in Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, Economic Modelling and Applied Economics, among others. He has also extensive experiences in the senior positions in the banking and finance industry. His research has been centred on areas related to asset pricing, financial contagion, capital adequacy of financial institutions, and Corporate Governance.

Dr Kamanashis Biswas Biswas

Dr Kamanashis Biswas is an information technology lecturer at ACU’s Peter Faber Business School. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the School of ICT, Griffith University. Before starting his role at ACU, he was an Associate Lecturer at Griffith University and a faculty member at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh.

Dr Biswas’ research interests include blockchain technology, design and development of lightweight security protocols, energy efficient and secure routing, intrusion detection systems, security issues in MANETs and WSNs. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers for various conferences and journals, including IEEE, Springer and Elsevier.

Dr Syed Fazal-e-Hasan Syed Fazal-e-Hasan

Before joining ACU, Syed worked as a senior lecturer, lecturer and postdoctoral research fellow in marketing at University of New England, University of Tasmania and Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He also worked as Quantitative Analyst for the School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations at QUT.

Syed has completed many research and entrepreneurial projects using advanced statistical and project management techniques, including Devonport Digitalisation, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) and Global Entrepreneurship Monitor projects. Most of his work is related to consumer choices and responses. He has been published in the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Services Marketing, and Journal of Retail and Consumer Services.

Syed has over ten years undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in Australia and overseas, including a three year teaching and mentoring experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students under the Oodgeroo program funded by QUT. He has also worked in administrative positions in public universities in South Asia and Australia, designing and implementing educational programs and projects. He has won teaching and learning grants and has sound experience in managing teaching and learning projects.

Research

Syed's research aligns with the University's research theme of wellbeing. His research interests include understanding how consumers' positive emotions contribute to their and others wellbeing. Syed's research into positive emotions such as gratitude and hope has attracted interest due to the important role emotions can play in generating profits and employee productivity. He is also researching the role of positive emotions in developing consumer perceptions of brand innovativeness and sustainability, and attainment of consumers' personal, professional and social goals. He is working on understanding whether different psychological mechanisms can explain the relationships between firms' economic and non-economic investments and positive organisation and consumer-related outcomes in different contexts such as B2C, B2B and C2C. Syed's other work focusses on the role of positive emotional and behavioural responses in group settings, particularly online group settings. Drawing upon social marketing theories, he is working on anti-drinking and anti-radicalisation themes.

Sugumar-MariappanadarDr Sugumar Mariappanadar

Dr Mariappanadar is a Senior Lecturer in Management/HRM in the Peter Faber Business School in Melbourne. His teaching and research interests cover sustainable human resource management, human resource measurement, Organisational behaviour, and culturally indigenous management practices. An organisational psychologist by training, his research has appeared in leading international journal outlets. He publishes in a variety of internationally-recognised journals, including Human Resource Management Review, Personnel Review, and International Journal of Manpower.

Dr Bulend Terzioglu

Dr Bülend Terzioglu is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a lecturer in the School of Business at Australian Catholic University. He holds a PhD and a Master of Business (Accounting) from RMIT University, a Graduate Diploma in International Business from Monash University and a BBus from METU. Before getting into academia, he held senior positions in industry over 16 years. Bulend has published in articles in Asia-Pacific Management Accounting Journal, Journal of Applied Management Accounting, Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration. His current research focuses on costing, transfer pricing, outsourcing, and performance evaluation of multinational companies.

Dr Walayat HussainDr Walayat Hussain

Dr Walayat Hussain is currently a Senior Lecturer and the Head of Discipline of Information Technology at the Peter Faber Business School, Australian Catholic University. Before taking up this role in October 2022, he was a Lecturer at Victoria University Melbourne, Lecturer and a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney for seven years. He worked as an Assistant Professor and postgraduate program coordinator at the department of Computer Science at BUITEMS University for many years. He holds a PhD, Master, Postgraduate Diploma, and Bachelor's (Hons.) degrees in Computing and Information Systems. Walayat's research areas are Service Computing, Business Intelligence, AI, Information Systems, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Decision Support Systems. He has contributed to theory and application and developed a new approach for making an optimal informed decision in complex systems.

 He has published several high-quality research documents in top-ranked ERA / CORE - A*, JCR/SJR – Q1 journals. He served as the General Co-chair in the 3rd International Conference on MMCITARE (4-6 March 2022) India, Sydney and as Technical Program Committee Chair at BIG-IoT-EDU (29 -31 July 2022) China. He has been a track chair in 14th IEEE ICEBE -China and a PC member in NBiS 2016 Czech Republic. Currently, he serves as a member of the Peter Faber Business School Executive Committee and a member of the Faculty Learning and Teaching Academy. He also served on the VUBS HDR Committee at Victoria University and as a member of the board of Faculty and Studies at BUITEMS University for three years. 

He is the recipient of the prestigious National Research Award by the Government of Oman 2021, the VUBS Award for Excellence in Research 2022, the Best Paper Awards at - IoTaaS Australia 3PGCIC 2015, 2016 Poland, South Korea, and FEIT HDR Publication Award by the UTS Australia.
