Just 3km from Vatican City, ACU Rome Campus is centrally located near the trendy suburb of Trastevere and all it has to offer. On campus, you’re within walking distance to historical sites, cafes and restaurants.
The best way to get to know Rome is to walk. Incredible historic and cultural sites are never far from each other and you can literally feel the history beneath your feet as you walk Rome’s streets. If you do need to venture further afield, here are some helpful hints for getting around.
There are two airports in Rome, Fiumicino (FCO, sometimes referred to as Lenardo da Vinci Airport), and Ciampino (CIA). Check where you’re landing for specific instructions.
Taxi is typically the fastest way to get to ACU Rome Campus, but buses and trains are more affordable options.
Rome2rio is a great resource for planning your trip.
Public transport tickets are valid on all of Rome’s bus, tram and metro lines, except for routes to Fiumicino airport. These tickets are not valid on trains.
The closest bus stops are the No.44 and the No. 75 stops Bonnet/Carini.
No.44 stop is a 400m walk from ACURome campus, see map below. This bus route will take you from the centre of Rome into Trastevere.
The No. 75 bus stop will take you from Trastevere all the way until the last stop, Roma Termini train station.
Public-transport tickets can be purchased from newsstands, tobacconists and vending machines at metro stations and on buses. You can also purchase tickets on your Smartphone by downloading the MyCicero or Tabnet app to use the BiPiù service that allows you to buy individual tickets or monthly passes. Tickets on BiPiù can be purchased as one-day, multi-day or monthly passes and may be used on either buses or the metro. Individual tickets must be activated on the app before boarding; however, monthly passes do not need to be activated before boarding. Simply scan the QR code on your digital ticket as you board and you are good to go!

ACU Rome is in walking distance to shops, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets centrally located to the local lively community. Walking is often just as quick, and more enjoyable, than getting around on public transport.
Life at our Rome Campus is about so much more than study. Splitting your time between lectures, community engagement opportunities and exploration, you’ll be immersed in Roman life. There’s time to explore historic sites, improve your Italian and, of course, stop for pasta with new friends.
All of the facilities you need for your stay are on campus. The campus grounds have plenty of places where you can relax and exchange stories with your fellow students, including lounge areas and terraces that offer views over Rome.
