Texts, Traditions, and Early Christian Identities

We are pleased to announce a major new university-funded research project led by Prof. Francis Watson (ACU/Durham). Texts, Traditions, and Early Christian Identities will address the question: how did the earliest Christian communities employ texts and traditions ascribed to a sacred past to negotiate issues relation to their identity – who they were, whey they existed, how they differed from others?

Prof. Watson is joined by a team of six researchers from Durham, KU Leuven and ACU; there is also a wider international advisory board. The project will run for 5 years. Please also see further details here.
