Philosophy is a cutting-edge contemporary discipline asking researchers and students to think deeply and go beyond the obvious.

It is central to ACU’s mission as a Catholic university dedicated to freedom of inquiry, the search for truth, and promoting the dignity of the human person and the common good.

Our community of philosophers, spread throughout ACU across faculties, research institutes and centres, is one of the largest in Australia and works across a range of contemporary philosophical areas including epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of religion and the history of philosophy.
