Bring faith to life in a fast-changing world. Study theology at ACU and explore knowledge, identity and value, and uncover the meaning of ‘faith seeking understanding’.
Our graduates are leaders defined by a distinctive set of values and an understanding of how high ethical standards in decision-making positively impact on organisations, communities and society at large.
If you are curious about the origin, nature and future of religion in society, theology is for you. It’s for inquisitive and enquiring minds – those eager to probe the foundations of the Christian faith, the development of its central teachings and philosophies, and its relationship with the modern world.
You can study theology with us at many levels. Innovative curriculum design and internationally recognised research expertise inform our programs, and scholars share their knowledge in engaging learning environments.
Whatever your stage of life or career, we have a course to suit. We offer short courses, certificate and bachelor opportunities, postgraduate coursework programs, professional and research degrees, international study tours, and a wide range of professional development and in-service opportunities.

Associate Professor Robyn Horner is a teaching and research academic within the School of Theology, and a member of the Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry (IRCI). From 2010 until 2015, she held the position of Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy.
The aim of Associate Professor Horner’s research is to find new ways of thinking about religious phenomena within contemporary Western contexts. She investigates this area both theoretically and practically, in collaboration with researchers in Belgium on the Enhancing Catholic School Identity Project. She is currently working on a monograph on revelation, and as part of the major project Atheism and Christianity: Moving Past Polemic.
