Exceptional candidates can extend their expertise in a chosen field by enrolling in a research degree. There are many ways to achieve your research goal, and here you can learn what's involved in each

Master Your Degree

You’re ready to become an expert in your field by completing a research degree. The first step in that direction is to understand your options.

We offer both masters by research and doctorates, and each course comes with its own set of eligibility requirements. Below is an overview of what you can expect for each.

Masters by research

A masters by research degree generally takes two years if you study full-time. Candidates are expected to submit a thesis – usually around 50,000 words in length – as their assessment but may also partake in research training coursework.

Doctorate

A PhD challenges you to make a significant contribution to your area of research. Over a period of three to four years, you will conduct a unique research project in your chosen field and present a final thesis of around 100,000 words to showcase your findings. You may present your thesis in various formats, but it is expected to make a significant contribution to your research field.

Graduates must have completed a masters or an honours year to be considered for acceptance in a doctoral program.

Flexible study options

We offer postgraduate research degrees in a range of delivery modes, to allow for the intensive nature of the research and writing requirements of these programs.
